Voxelize is an OpenSCAD module that enables you to create voxel art from other models. To use it, find the minimum and maximum points that form a box containing your model. Pass these points to the voxelize function as p0 and p1. Include a step (voxel size) and an optional overlap (important for printability). The process takes several minutes based on steps and complexity. You may receive a few warnings during processing; this is normal. Excessive warnings indicate that your volume exceeds its necessary size. If you encounter errors, it's possible that your model is too complex to be processed. Reduce the model's complexity with MeshMixer or another capable app. Two examples are included: Credit for the 3DBenchy model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:763622 Credit for the Stanford Bunny Model: From MeshMixer Tips: Use an overlap of about 0.2 to ensure models remain solid; setting overlap to zero may result in voxels touching only by edges or corners. Expect the voxelize function to take a long time; the included bunny examples can take 15 to 20 minutes or more to process. Reduce model complexity beforehand to decrease processing time and improve success; for example, the Benchy example was reduced by 95% in MeshMixer before being successfully processed by voxelize. Offset the starting point (p0) by -1/2 step after finding the minimum for your model to enhance symmetry since samples are taken at step boundaries. Have fun! Don't forget to share your creations and let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.
