On Mount Parnes in Attica, archaeologists discovered a cave that housed a captivating scene. Hermes and three Nymphs swayed around an altar within the cave, their movements orchestrated to perfection by the surroundings. Meanwhile, Pan stood watch outside the entrance, his piercing gaze taking in every detail of the scene unfolding before him. At the bottom left corner, the personification of Acheloos, a river deity, flowed majestically, adding depth and complexity to the artwork. Beneath the representation, the names of the donors were carefully etched, serving as a testament to their devotion and generosity.
