Votive relief and base
myminifactory
Discovered in the cave of the Nymphs on Mount Penteli, Attica, this relief showcases a cave-like structure set atop a tall, rectangular base. The base bears an inscription proclaiming that the relief was dedicated to the Nymphs by Agathemeros, who is depicted at the right, holding a kantharos in his right hand as a nude wine-server fills it. In front of them, a rock is carved, upon which the goat-footed god Pan holds the pan-pipe, while Hermes stands beside him, grasping the caduceus and clad in a chlamys. Three Nymphs are positioned behind him, adding to the relief's intricate composition.
