The iconic relief was unearthed at Argos, situated in the Peloponnese region. The artwork showcases a heroic young warrior cast in the mold of the renowned Doryphoros (spear-bearer), proudly accompanied by his horse. With an unwavering grip, he grasps the reins of his equine companion in one hand and a spear in the other. This masterpiece stands as the earliest representation of the legendary bronze statue crafted by Polykleitos around 440 B.C.
