Votive relief
myminifactory
Found at Nikaia in Bithynia, Asia Minor, the relief showcases Apollon confidently holding a sceptre and bowl at his right side, standing next to an altar that is being approached by a young slave carefully leading a sacrificial sheep. To the left, a young girl skillfully carries a large box on her head while simultaneously grasping an oinochoe in her hand. Right beside her, a mature man makes a gesture of reverence. The inscription explicitly declares that the members of a religious association proudly honored their priest Asklepiades son of Melidoros by presenting him with a wreath and dedicating the stele in his name.
