Votive relief

This relief was unearthed in Athens.\r\nIt belongs to the "funerary banquet" type of artifact. A deity or legendary figure reclines on a couch, as a serpent ascends its foot. On the right edge stands a wine-server, while on the left approach a family of devotees, accompanied by slaves bearing sacrificial beasts toward an altar, and a maid carrying a wicker basket. A horse protome is rendered in a border at the top left corner.
