This artifact was unearthed in Neo Phaleron, Attica. At its core, one side showcases the horned Kephisos as the central figure. On the left, Artemis is depicted facing a god; to the right are three Nymphs. The inscription on the epistyle reveals that this relief was dedicated to Hermes and the Nymphs. The other side features Echelos abducting Nymph Basile in a dramatic scene. Hermes, grasping a painted whip with his right hand, propels a chariot that carries the two figures. The names of these three figures - Hermes, Echelos, Basile - are inscribed on the epistyle above the image: This relief was erected atop an inscribed poros base that stood tall. The inscription on the base discloses that both this relief and an altar were dedicated by Kephisodotos, son of Demogenes.
