If you like & use my models please consider supporting my efforts with the button below. Thank you!…Please at least be sure to hit like & post a make, I'd love to see your prints!EDIT: Updated X belt adjuster block & slider models! Big improvement.EDIT: Now with V2 Ducts!!Here is the new Vortex V2 Linear Rail X system for the Sovol SV01 Pro using the Biqu H2V2 extruder. It provides crazy clean X motion & amazing quality prints with no surface artefacts that were previously related to the old style carriage wheels.Check out the Y axis here!https://www.printables.com/model/453650-linear-rail-system-y-axis-sv01-proThis is designed for use with an M8 Inductive Probe & a printer with sensorless homing! It is perfectly suited for use with this upgrade! https://www.printables.com/model/376137-demon-pro-skr-3-ez Or if you already have a board capable of sensorless homing like the SKR Mini E3 V3 & just want something for the Y axis so you can remove the switch, print one of these!https://www.printables.com/model/343851-sensorless-homing-endstop-bumpers This system will probably easily fit the OG SV01 & SV03 printers too as the brackets are basically the same & you'll be making your own new X gantry anyway so you can measure your old one & adjust the holes to suit. Don't just use the values for the Pro here, as they'll be different. BEFORE YOU START!This requires metal working skills & tools! You will need to cut metal bars to length accurately & drill accurate & straight holes in specific places & tap clean strong threads in Aluminium! Parts List1x 420mm 20x10 Aluminium Extrusion (SV01 Pro)1x 420mm MGN12H Linear Rail (SV01 Pro)1x MGN12H bearing block1x M8 Inductive Probe4x M4 12-16mm button head bolts - 2010 extrusion mounting5x 5mm T-slot nuts M3 with bolts (use more if you like)1x LDO 0.9º Nema 17 Motor LDO-42STH25-1404MAC1x 6mm 40 tooth GT2 pulley 5mm bore - motor side1x 6mm 40 tooth GT2 pulley 8mm bore - adjuster side1x 1.2m 6mm GT2 timing belt - order more than 1m! Vortex V2 Bracket4x m3 8mm countersunk bolt - bearing mounting2x M3 8mm cap head bolt - extruder mount right2x M3 washers - extruder mount right1x M3 10mm countersunk bolt - extruder mount left1x M3 nut - extruder mount left1x M3 20mm cap head bolt - top probe mount on extruder Belt clamp3x M3 8mm cap head bolt3x M3 washers3x M3 SHORT heat inserts (4mm) Tension adjuster2x M4 8mm cap head bolt - in end of 2010 extrusion 1x M3 30mm cap head bolt - through tensioner pulley1x M3 nut - for 30mm bolt above1x M3 16mm cap head - tension adjuster bolt1x M3 washer - for tension adjuster bolt1x M3 heat insert - for tensioner slider Motor mount & cover2x M4 12mm cap head bolt - in end of 2010 extrusion 2x M3 30mm cap head bolt - left side motor bolts2x M3 washers - for 30mm bolts2x M3 8mm button head - right side motor bolts PrintingPrint all parts flat on their largest smooth faces in Petg @ 0.2mm layer height, your printer MUST be set up well & be accurate as tolerances on some parts are 0.1mm!! Supports are needed on the large probe mount holes, but even then you probably could get away without any. Results are better with however.Add supports on the X tensioner block overhangs!!!The Fan mount should be printed flat on its bottom & add supports in the mounting opening & under the bracket arms. Make sure your support settings are good!Print all rollers & Spacers standing upright not laying down.It comes with 2 versions of the Probe mount, one with a captive top nut & one with a freely moveable one. It's up to you to choose which one you'd like. It also comes with 2 versions of the fan mount, a +2mm offset & a +4mm offset one so you can adjust the airflow to your liking. Metal WorkFor this you will need to cut the linear rail to 420mm, then the 2010 extrusion to 420mm also. You will then need to drill the holes in the new gantry in exactly the correct places. Drill from the rear side to the front. DO NOT DRILL THE FRONT!You need a 3.3mm drill bit for holes 1, 2, 4, & 6 going from the left of the printer. DO NOT use a 3mm or 3.5mm bit, you NEED a 3.3mm one.For holes 3 & 5 you need an 11.5mm drill bit. DO NOT drill all the way through!! Drill deep enough so the large button head bolts on the printer's Z brackets fit inside the hole & the extrusion is flush with the bracket face. Similar to the stock gantry! Use this for reference.Measure holes starting from the left edge of the 2010 extrusion:Hole 1 - 3mmHole 2 - 29mmHole 3 - 48.5mm (11.5mm bit) DO NOT DRILL THROUGH!!Hole 4 - 319.5mmHole 5 - 341mm (11.5mm bit) DO NOT DRILL THROUGH!!Hole 6 - 399.5mmThese holes MUST BE correct & accurate & aligned with the centre of the extrusion. Measure & compare with your stock gantry that the numbers are correct.Once your holes are drilled you will need to tap M4 threads in holes 1, 2, 4, 6. Use EXACT M4 hand taps. Code 30102. You will also need to tap M4 threads in the 2 holes in each end of the extrusion to hold the endstop part in place & the belt tensioner.Once you've done this & it all fits - have a beer & admire your hard work! haha Assembly You will need BALL END Hex Keys or preferably drivers in M3 & M4! Be sure you have these. It makes things a lot easier.Add the 3 short heat inserts to the Vortex V2 bracket to the three holes on the belt clamping section. Start from the smooth side not the corrugated side. With the bearing block secure on the rail add the bracket.insert the M3 nut in the rear side, add a single small dot of super glue to the outside if you need to hold it in place.Slide the bearing to the right end of the rail, don't let it fall off!Add the two right side bolts to secure the extruder.Add the probe mount of your choice, captive top nut or free top nut version & add the countersunk bolt so it engages with the nut on the left side. Add the top probe mount bolt to secure to the extruder. Take the tensioner slider & add the regular length heat insert from the pulley side. Now carefully snap the tensioner slider inside the block, attach the unit to the right end of the 2010 extrusion, making sure it sits flush & square! Some adjustment might be required here. This MUST be correct! Secure with the 2 M4 bolts. Next add the tensioner roller to the pulley & secure in place on the tensioner with the nut & 30mm bolt with set screws outwards. DO NOT add any set screws to the tensioner pulley, let it run freely on the roller. Insert the tension adjuster bolt & washer & check smooth operation.Mount the x endstop with M4 bolts on the left end of the 2010 extrusion. Mount the motor to the Z bracket with the button head bolts on the right side, add the other pulley with the set screws outwards on the motor shaft. Next add the cover plate & spacers & secure with bolts.Feed the belt through the system & clamp in place on the rear of the carriage bracket. Set your probe height correctly & then set the probe offset to:PROBE OFFSET -34, 6.4, 0 See photos for further reference. Don't forget to post your makes! Any questions or issues ask first, don't leave a bad review because something didn't go right for you!
