Vortex Generator - Swept Wing - Ganged
thingiverse
Generated these vortex generators to potentially enhance aerodynamics of my flying wing (ZOHD Orbit). Ended up using one full strip and a partial strip to span from wing root to tip. Probably not essential, but that is what I flew with. So far, the aerodynamics appear to be improved over having no VGs installed. One thing I did notice is that these don't lay very flat if positioned on the more aggressive curve near the leading edge. So, maybe mount a little further back compared to where I show in the picture. I'd seen other vortex generators, but none seemed to have the right attributes for my wing design. This is intended for a wing with a 20-degree sweep back or forward (probably would work for most wings.) Just ensure you get them oriented with the wedge pointing forward on the wing top surface. I used Fabric-tac glue and it seemed to hold up in flight, even though the VG strip didn't lay down perfectly flat.
