Vortex Fan Duct for Anycubic 4Max Pro
thingiverse
The Anycubic 4Max Pro printer is truly exceptional, but it comes with a small drawback - a spout that blows air out one side of the nozzle. This can lead to stringy prints and sloppy overhangs when the filament exits on the opposite side. This innovative fan duct is designed to redirect airflow in a spiral pattern around the nozzle's tip, allowing for efficient delivery of air to the print from all angles. Instructions: - Ensure the round heat sink is flush against the carriage as shown in the picture. - Measure the distance from the print platform to the bottom of the X-axis carriage at the mounting point when the print platform is in the Z-home position. Use the 22mm or 24mm design file that most closely matches this measurement. Adjust your slicer's Z-axis by +/- 4% if necessary to achieve a print height matching your measured distance. On a brand new 4Max Pro with its factory-installed nozzle, this distance is 22mm. - Print using the material and slicer settings suggested below. - Attach this fan duct to the carriage using two M3 x 18mm button or cap head screws. - Fasten the screw at the air inlet first. This will snap the fan duct opening into place under the carriage. Recommended Cura settings: - Use ABS for easy removal of support material. - Infill Pattern = Gyroid. - Support Type = Touch Build Plate. - Support Density = around 10 - 15%. - Support Pattern = Zig Zag, which is the easiest and cleanest to remove. We appreciate any feedback you can provide to help us improve our designs. If you use this design, add it to your watch list for any updates. Updates: - April 14, 2020, v4: The air pipes have been lowered to prevent airflow from hitting the heat block. - September 8, 2019, v3: I realized that v2 was inadvertently mirrored when exported. V3 should correct this error, thanks to a photo shared by @Marms. - August 18, 2019, v2: The design and instructions have been updated to accommodate longer distances from the nozzle to the carriage.
