Vorpal Hexapod Stand
thingiverse
This is an add-on accessory for the utterly fantastic Vorpal Combat Hexapod. If you haven't seen that yet, then this won't make any sense, so check it out first: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2513566. Take a look at the Hexapod Intro Features Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GW3ZaxP6OhM&rel=0. I made this entirely open source and respectfully ask you to consider supporting the project. We successfully funded on Kickstarter with hundreds of kits sold, and now we're accepting pre-orders on Indiegogo: https://igg.me/at/VorpalHexapod. + Important: If you opt-in to receive our store monthly newsletters, you'll automatically be enrolled in a monthly prize drawing, first prize is a $100 store credit, and there are lots of other smaller prizes too! Why do I need this for the Hexapod? ------------------------------------------------ Now that you understand, this thing is a stand that goes under the hexapod. It's useful to keep the hexapod off the ground while testing new programs, such as using the MIT Scratch drag-and-drop programming system. The stand has little pegs that fit perfectly in matching holes on the bottom of the hexapod. It just barely keeps the legs off the table. By testing your programs initially using the stand, you don't run the risk of the robot scampering off the table if you coded it wrong! This will also allow you to proudly display your robot in a standing position even when it's turned off and the legs are not under power, with no stress on the servo motors. Printing ---------- I recommend turning on brims (or rafts if you prefer, but in my opinion, brims are much easier to cleanly remove).
