VoronoiBowl31
cults3d
I've seen this type of geometry on bowls and vases hand made by potters, but was never quite sure how to design something similar that would work for 3D printing. Fortunately it turned out not to be all that difficult. I made this shape by subtracting some solid Voronoi shaped "biscuits" from a standard surface of revolution vase shape. The trickiest part was positioning the biscuits in a way that made nice looking cutouts, and not big holes, in the sides of the base geometry. Here is a 10 sec. video that shows a full 360 degree rotation: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/gWWxwrXGmL8 This part printed in a little over 16 hours using a print speed of 110 mm/sec and a layer height of 0.203 mm.
