Voronoi Tealight Holder - Laser Cut
thingiverse
I'm too lazy to create a perfectly designed Voronoi tealight box from scratch, so I took a shortcut by using a laser cutter to cut out the design from wood. However, I should probably reconsider my choice of material - wood may not be the best option for a candle holder, considering its potential to burn or warp over time. PLA might also have similar issues. I've uploaded an image of the project, but it's probably not representative of what the final product will look like if I actually take the time to use quality materials and proper cutting settings. For now, I'll settle for using spare junk wood and guaranteed burn-through settings - after all, it's just a prototype! The design is available in two versions: one for 3mm metric ply and another for 1/8th inch imperial. Here's how I created this project: I was too lazy to learn Blender's Voronoi fracture plugin, so I took a different approach. I cut the backs off the STL file that was rendered using Freestyle's SVG output, then merged them manually in Illustrator with a pre-made box from Makercase.com. I edited the design to leave an open top and voila - my Voronoi tealight box was born!
