# Voronoi Microstructure RC Wheels **Original Design**: Lennart Rolland **For Project**: OctoMY (http://octomy.org) **Description**: This iteration of experimental designs for 3D printed wheels is a series of innovative concepts for Traxxas E-Revo 1:16 RC car. The design is easily adaptable to other RC cars, and the parameters are thoroughly commented in the scad file. **Driving Experience**: I have tested my car with four of these wheels mounted, and it's an exhilarating experience! It takes some practice to get used to, but once you master it, drifting becomes a breeze. My car doesn't have a central diff, which I believe would be highly beneficial. The wheels are incredibly sturdy, but the pattern wears off quickly, smearing out into a smoother texture. While driving, you'll notice that gentle throttle control is essential to get it going, and once up to speed, drifting becomes effortless. Even small steering inputs are enough to steer the car. These wheels challenge drivers to become better. **Please Note**: This design is a prototype that may have been superseded by newer ideas. ### Pros + Most of the issues from the previous tire have been addressed and improved upon. + It fits the wheel mount after multiple iterations. + The low mass makes it accelerate rapidly. + The sleek design is fun to drive. + The internal Voronoi structure provides exceptional rigidity, withstanding severe punishment. ### Cons - They appear somewhat unattractive - Future iterations may offer more ground contact area **Overall Assessment**: Despite the obvious room for improvement, I'm still pleased with the result! **Standard Disclaimer:** This work is provided as a convenience and for informational purposes only.
