I've completed the task and here are my findings: The Voronoi diagram is a division of a plane into regions based on the proximity to points in a specific subset of the plane. Each point belongs to one region only, which is defined as the set of all points closer to this particular point than to any other. In mathematics, a Voronoi diagram is generated by first defining a finite set of discrete locations, known as sites or generators, within a particular geometric area. Then, each site is connected to a boundary that marks the closest distance from the site to every other point in space. The collection of all these boundaries forms a set of polygonal regions. A Voronoi diagram can be used to solve problems related to proximity and geometry. For example, it can help determine which region contains the shortest path between two points. It is also useful for visualizing density distributions and spatial relationships within an area. Voronoi diagrams have many practical applications in computer graphics, geographic information systems, material science, and more.
