Voronoi Ceiling Lamp Shade with air holes
thingiverse
The E14 10W LED bulbs in my ceiling light get very hot with the satinized glass shade. That's why I designed these voronoi style lamp shades with air holes. Even though the LED bulbs should last for years, they keep breaking after 7-8 month. They probably overheat in the enclosure. Temperatures measured at the base of the lamp after 1 hour Without Shade: 82°C (180°F) With standard Shade: 112°C (233°F) With Voronoi Shade : 91°C (195°F) That's a reduction of about 20°C. Need to prove itself over the course of the next few months, but I'd say so far it should help keep the bulbs cooler. Measurements: 50mm outer diameter 90mm length 30mm hole at the bottom Prints well without the need of supports
