Voronoi Bracelet

Voronoi Bracelet

Following my visit to the 2013 Bay Area Maker Faire, I was inspired to create a bracelet using Maya software. The design involved modeling a bracelet shape and booleaning it against a voronoi solid created with the "SOuP" plugin. Printed in Taulman 618 Nylon for flexibility, it took approximately 2 hours, 45 minutes to print and weighed 31g/1.09oz, resulting in a print cost of about $1.37 per bracelet. To achieve more bracelets from a spool of nylon, lower the infill shells. Non-nylon materials may require an enlarged gap at the back for easy wearability. Preventing hissing and popping during printing involves baking the nylon at 105C for an hour; however, this method melted my spool slightly, causing it to no longer fit on the spool holder properly.
