The original part tends to wear out quickly due to its fragile nature, which is why my second-hand Volvo came equipped with a broken handle when I purchased it. The replacement handle can be obtained for around 15-20EUR, including shipping costs, making it an attractive option for those looking to restore their vehicle's original functionality. Please note that this replacement part deviates slightly from the original design in terms of sturdiness, but its dimensions match the visible portion precisely. In order to accommodate standard springs, which were not readily available for this particular application, I made a small modification to the hook by drilling a hole through it. This adaptation enables the use of straight springs, which work perfectly (as seen in the accompanying image). Volvo enthusiasts may be interested to know that the original part numbers for this component are 39966515 and 39966528; however, these numbers vary depending on the vehicle's color scheme, suggesting that there may be numerous other applicable part numbers.
