Due to limited availability of parts or exorbitant prices from dealerships for these small components, I elected to design and test 3D printed versions using a 3D printer. I utilized Snakewind's scan as the foundation and modified it with the original reinforcement structure in place. Additionally, I created an entirely new drawing that is slightly larger than the original component. Both designs were thoroughly tested, and I prefer to use the newly designed version when printed with ABS plastic for its superior flexibility. This part serves a vital function at the tailgate of Volvo 850/V70 classic models as well as other makes. The design has been successfully tested in PLA, ABS, and other materials. Based on my experience, I recommend using ABS due to its enhanced flexibility after printing. The print was produced on an Ultimaker 3D printer.
