Volvo Redblock distributor

Volvo Redblock distributor

cults3d

This is a basic style redblock distributor featuring a spinning rotor inside its cap. The rotor is directly connected to the camshaft and relies on an RPM sensor on the flywheel for timing information. Timing can also be adjusted mechanically by rotating the distributor body's angle relative to the engine head. Measurements were taken with a non-digital caliper, so some values may not be entirely accurate. This model does not include bearings or oil seals for its shaft and lacks grooves to attach them. The goal is to demonstrate the mechanical operation of the part in simple terms. The scaled model has channels for passing thin wires to each contact point, allowing it to function as a working miniature that can light up LED's for example. Two sets of files are provided: original ones in real dimensions and SCALED files at 40% size, suitable for use with a miniature cylinder head model.
