Hi, This is a custom-made speaker adapter for your 1988 Volvo 740. The factory mounts are oval-shaped, and this adapter allows you to install a standard 5.25'' (13cm) speaker in the doors while still retaining the original cover. The front and rear door adapters are identical, so it will work seamlessly for both. It's also likely that this adapter will fit other Volvos from the same era. New mounting screws come with the speakers and should be used to secure them to the door. You'll need to reuse the old screws from your original speaker to attach the new speaker to the adapter. Keep in mind that you may need to modify the speaker mounting bracket to ensure a perfect fit. Happy printing!
