Volvo 480 - Electric window repair kit
thingiverse
This is my DIY repair kit for the notoriously faulty electric windows on the Volvo 480. The design mirrors itself perfectly on both ends, making it easy to find two files for the upper section and two for the lower section. I'm considering creating a full replacement part in the future as well, but so far this solution has worked incredibly well for me. **Assembly Instructions** First, print the two parts designated for either the upper or lower end of the window. I recommend using ABS, which is known to be stronger than PLA. Next, remove any old plastic debris until you're left with a surface that resembles my third image. You can also take it a step further by removing the last remaining plastic component from the metal hole. After that, simply mount the backplate and frontplate in place using M3 nuts and bolts. The trickiest part of this process is usually getting the wires to fit back into their original positions. **Required Components** Printed parts 1 and 2 2 x M3 bolts 2 x M3 nuts
