Volume: slices x constant

Volume: slices x constant

thingiverse

The volume below the surface z=sin(x)cos(y), above the xy-plane, and inside the rectangle [0,pi/2]x[0,pi/2] is approximated by 8 slices. The x-value remains constant at the midpoint of each sub-interval: pi/32, 3pi/32, ... , 15pi/32. This illustrates Fubini's Theorem and iterated integration. This model pairs well with Volume: slices y constant and Volume: no slices. See http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:928463 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:928456. Ryan McDonnell, a WLU summer research student ('17), designed and printed this model.
