The volume of a sphere is the limit of sums of volumes of approximating cylinders. Backed by the concept of Riemann Sums, material was developed for representing the volume of the sphere through sums of volumes of approximating cylinders, also known as the disk method. Spheres were constructed using six cylinders (eight partitions of the diameter), 14 cylinders (16 partitions of the diameter), and 62 cylinders (64 partitions of the diameter).
