Voltage through cable isolation tester
thingiverse
This is a straightforward device used to verify if a cable is live or not. It provides a rapid way to identify the correct cable in a bundle when there isn't a connector available to probe directly onto. Simply push the sharp metal probe through the insulation and observe if the LED illuminates. This tool is primarily designed for car electronics, so it's mainly suited for 12V systems.\r\nSome soldering is required, along with a small resistor around 300 Ohms and an LED.\r\nThe hand-drawn sketches illustrate the basic operation of this device.\r\n\r\n180111: Designed longer for easier access to "hard to reach" cables.
