Voltage Step Down Regulator

CAUTION _ READ BEFORE PROCEEDING! This regulator and stepdown controller functions flawlessly, however dropping voltage to 12 V for fans or any other devices you intend to power, and using the USB port to power USB devices simultaneously WILL IRREPARABLY DAMAGE YOUR USB DEVICES INCLUDING YOUR PI! I've checked the voltage coming out from the USB connection and measured 7v at a current of .4 amp. This will permanently wipe out your pi and other connected devices! You should take notice that you MUST LOWER THE VOLTAGE ON THE READOUT TO 5.0V OR ABOUT for proper functioning, or YOU WILL SUFFICIENTLY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICES! I created this box specifically for the BTE13-001 step down regulator. Currently, it's in use with my FlashForge Creator Pro printer to power not only my raspberry pi (since this regulator features a USB port capable of supplying 1A of output) but also some auxiliary fans designed to remove heat and/or fumes from the build chamber. I included slots on top of the lid for ventilation purposes, allowing air circulation. These components don't need heatsinks unless you're drawing close to 10W power, then a heat sink should be added for effective operation. Eventually, I might remake the case and integrate a 40mm fan or an even smaller one for increased security. The round hole located near the center of the box is used for adjusting the linear voltage of the regulator. A small eye glass repair screw driver (flat head) is necessary for making these adjustments. Given that these components are mass-produced in china, there's a slight possibility that some things might not line up correctly. For instance, when I received my item, the LED readout was cocked at an angle so I warmed it up and realigned it. Similarly, the USB port and orange output plug didn't match properly either. If the product doesn't fit, try reflowing the solder to realign the components. If necessary, contact me for adjustments. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2X Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: Set your preference Infill: Use a 10% fill density Notes: Print on the bed as is. No special requirements are needed. You'll need to secure the box using screws, which I used stainless M3x24mm and found a perfect fit.
