This 3D component serves as a Coil Holder, specifically crafted to examine two distinct coil configurations: one wrapped in the Counter Clockwise direction and another in the Clockwise direction. The North pole of a magnet generates a signal in one direction when it passes by a coil, whereas the South pole drives the signal in the opposite direction when it encounters the same coil. Notably, both coils experience movement in the same direction as the magnet. Under identical speed conditions, the signals produced by the North and South poles have approximately equal amplitude, yet their polarities differ significantly. When a magnet is passed through two coils, one wrapped Clockwise and the other Counter Clockwise, the signal generated by the North pole can be combined with that of the South pole. This effectively doubles the voltage produced by each individual pole, resulting in a doubled Voltage signal. The polarity of this enhanced signal depends on the direction of the magnet's spin as it passes between the coils. To achieve optimal results, the two coils should have their wire ends closest to the magnet connected together, and the voltage reading should be taken across their outermost wire ends. This component features 1/4 inch holes for wooden dowels supporting coils with a 1/4 inch diameter wrapped in magnet wire. The coils are adjustable using wooden dowels moved back and forth to adjust spacing between them and magnets moving between coils. This part was designed utilizing the eMachineShop software package, specifically its free version.
