This replica badge was designed specifically for my VW MK5 R32 Golf. I purchased a replacement black badge online but was thoroughly disappointed with its quality (eBay's reputation precedes itself). Therefore, I decided to create one myself. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer Model: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .18mm Infill: 100% Notes: Printing the badge upright yielded a smoother finish but compromised its strength compared to printing it flat on the bed. This method also reduced support material usage. Simplify3D failed to properly display and print this design, whereas FlashPrint and ReplicatorG supported it seamlessly. Post-Printing For the ABS version, I utilized acetone vapor for approximately an hour to achieve a smooth finish with a glossy appearance. I applied acetone to the red PLA version as well, which added a shine but did not effectively smooth out the layers. The result resembled a candied badge. Badge clips were omitted from the design; instead, sticky-back foam strips proved effective in securing the badge to my car without being too difficult to remove if desired. Design Process I employed 3DS MAX to create this badge. Measurements of my original badge were taken using a caliper, and the only deviation was the absence of clips on the back. I opted for a smooth surface and utilized sticky pads to secure it to my vehicle. re-uploaded in high definition!
