This is a spare Volkswagen hold down nut for many models that include the plastic threaded rod and nut (see attached picture). I needed a nut because it didn't come with my car and the spare tire was moving a lot, causing rattles. I took the original nut off of my other VAG car and designed it solely using my digital caliper. The thread works fine; just screw it into the rod and you save yourself at least 15 bucks from the dealership!
