The Volkswagen Passat Variant's 2015 high-definition model boasts a highly detailed, fully textured interior with functional doors and modelled headlights/taillights. Modelled tires are also included. The majority of the model is comprised of SubDivision/Meshsmooth surfaces, allowing for easy adjustment of resolution/smoothness using 3ds Max or Maya 2013. Importing the .obj/.fbx/.lwo version's lowest resolution into a compatible software with SubDivision support enables further smoothness customization. The unsmoothed base has 739,468 polygons, while other non-SubDivision-compatible software options are offered in three resolutions ranging from 739,468 to 6,420,679 polygons. In Max 2010, Meshsmooth is applied for resolution customization via the 'meshsmooth' named selection set and 'interior' selection set. Maya 2013 includes a SubD surface selection set for resolution adjustment and an interior display layer for easy hiding. Other formats—FBX, Cinema 4D 9.6, Lwo 6.0, obj, and 3ds—are available in three resolutions with separate interior/exterior files for flexible usage. Previews were rendered using 3ds Max's VRay; however, VRay materials and lighting settings are not included.
