I made a scaled-down version of a Volkswagen Boxer engine cylinder head for a friend's RC-plane. He wanted a precise replica of the cylinder heads to enhance his plane's realism, but only needed those as the crankcase would be invisible during flight. Since I couldn't find the original CAD files online anymore, I broke down the entire cylinder head into three separate sections. This allowed me to print the cooling ribs upright without support, which was a big plus. After printing each section with PLA in steel-gray color, I glued them together using superglue. The valve cover was printed with composite aluminum-PLA for added durability and authenticity.
