The Volkswagen Type 1, famously known as the Beetle or Bug, was an economy car produced by German automaker Volkswagen from 1938 to 2003. Despite names like Beetle and Bug gaining popularity among the public, it wasn't until August 1967 that VW officially used 'Beetle' in US marketing materials. In contrast, in Britain, VW never officially labeled it as 'Beetle'. It was known as either Type I or the 1200 (twelve-hundred), 1300 (thirteen-hundred), or 1500 (fifteen-hundred) in Europe, with the numbers indicating the vehicle's engine size. In 1998, VW introduced the New Beetle, built on a Golf platform and resembling the original, even after phasing out the original model in most parts of the world (production continued in Mexico until 2003). As for features, this DAZ Studio prop comes with a polygon count of 78,921. It boasts left and right doors that can open and close, along with steering wheel functionality and an ERC dial affecting the front wheels and steering. The seats are adjustable to accommodate various Poser figure sizes, and it offers both left-hand and right-hand driving options. However, the front hood doesn't open, and the trunk is inaccessible. Texture-wise, you get five color choices for the car: blue, green, red, yellow (default), and silver. There are also three license plate material files: Maryland, Florida Orange, and Florida Shark, each with realistic raised letters thanks to displacement maps. These plates can be used across all Vanishing Point and Digimation past and future cars and trucks. It is optimized for DAZ Studio use, coming with a dsf, duf/png, and ERC dial functionality.
