We ditched the heat-set threaded inserts, which were required to attach the cover and GoPro mount to the base. These pricey components demand specialized equipment to insert them into the base and activation surface. We also swapped out the 1/4 inch bolt for a printed post and a screw-in collar (with its own Teflon tube lining) to bolster the connection between the activation surface and the internal spring, ensuring a smoother action. Since the post must be printed vertically, it's susceptible to horizontal stresses. You might want to substitute it with a 1-1/4″ x 1/4″ hex head bolt for added strength.
