Human: El Misti is a stratovolcano located in southern Peru, near the city of Arequipa, and considered one of the 10 active or potentially active volcanoes in this part of the Andes mountain range. It has been monitored since 2005 by the Southern Volcanological Observatory (OVS) of the Peruvian Geophysical Institute (IGP), which operates six seismic stations within its volcanic building that record 24 hours a day the seismovolcanic events produced inside it.
