Volcan de Colima - Mexico
thingiverse
Constructed using 1 arcsecond resolution SRTM data from the Space Shuttle, totaling over 1.6 million polygons. This software was crafted from a novel version of SRTM2STL that is yet to be released publicly. The source code for generating files at 3 arcsecond resolution can be accessed via GitHub under the terms of the GNU license. To access this code, visit GitHub and search for SRTM2STL. To obtain optimal results, consider printing at a relatively small size, as warping can occur when using PLA and larger prints often produce even more pronounced distortion, particularly with Raised Relief Maps. While there have been instances where big maps produced satisfactory results, it's likely that improved control over warping will enhance success rates with large-scale prints.
