Volantex Ranger G2 Wing Clip
thingiverse
I soar through the skies over heathland landscapes, where rugged terrain poses a significant challenge for landing. The ground beneath me is a vast expanse of long grass and sparse vegetation, making it difficult to deploy my undercarriage fully. Consequently, landings can be quite rough on my wings, resulting in occasional instances of high force. It didn't take long for the wing clip to give way to the stress, snapping off after repeated hard landings. Through trial and error, I've developed a tougher design that's withstood even the most brutal impacts – although it's still not foolproof. In fact, I've experienced situations where the wing has been dislodged without the clip actually breaking. If you're facing issues with the original wing clip, carefully extract it from its hidden position within the foam of your fuselage and replace it with this redesigned version using a suitable adhesive. I opted for Goop/E6000, securing it in place temporarily with masking tape while it dried. For optimal results, I recommend printing this part using PETG (or ABS if you prefer).
