Volantex Ranger 2400 Landing Gear
thingiverse
I'm not a fan of the huge landing gear and wheels that the plane comes with. The placement on the fuselage is too far back and the wheels are ridiculously big. I do like the small center wheel however it makes it hard to take off on a narrow runway due to the plane tilting to one side or the other. Not to mention scratching up the wingtips scraping them on the ground. This is my solution: This replaces the single center wheel with two wheels of similar size. Small enough to not add a ton of weight or drag. I made it just wide enough to keep the plane straight as you take off or land. I've had great luck taking off on rough grass fields and have yet to have any problems. I used two 2.75" diameter wheels acquired from the local hobby shop. The landing gear uses the original wheel bolt and the wheels attach with 4mm bolts. The bolt holes are a nice snug fit on my printer.
