Voice Vases

Voice Vases

thingiverse

I made these vases for my cousin's wedding present. They recorded their vows during their ceremony and said each other's names, which I captured as a sound wave using Logic on my Mac. Any sound wave editor will work, but Logic gave me the best resolution. I imported this image into Fusion 360 and used the spline tool to create a revolve based on its outline. This was my first designed model and 3D printed project. At that time, I didn't know about supports yet, so I adjusted some waves' angles to reduce overhangs. I left the model solid since I printed it with a single outer layer and no top layer. Now I'm creating exact replicas of these vases using the "I do's" from their ceremony and supports. Next, I'll combine these with profiles of their faces and mount everything on a wall plaque.
