VMT FW Fortress Walls for Vase Mode printing
thingiverse
Updated files, don't print "Gatehouse Pillar" which came with the first package. A newer version of "Gatehouse Extension" is included; the old one was too wide. Updated Gate Right to the right size. Update March 31, 2020: Reprinted the thing in Adeptus Titanicus scale at 28%. Prints super fast and precise with a 0.4 nozzle at 0.12 layer height in Vase mode - see picture. Man the walls! Are you in a hurry and need a fortress? Build this one! It's a proxy for...well...a well-known fortress from a well-known miniature wargaming manufacturer... The whole thing is about four feet wide and two feet high. Prints in about one week if you try to keep your printer running 24/7. All files print as oriented in "Vase Mode", activate the "Spiralize Contour" checkbox in Cura. Use a 0.8 or 1.0 nozzle at 0.12 layer height. You will need about 1.5 kg of filament for the whole thing. Some parts for the Gatehouse need to be mirrored as seen in the filenames. I created the fortress from scratch in Inventor. Scale should be within five percent to the original. Vase Mode allows no openings like windows, etc., so there are no real openings in this design. I wanted the fortress to be printable in about a week; if you print it regularly, it will take six weeks or more. Thanks to Worldhopper for providing me with his amazing gate files to adapt them to my VMT Fortress. Awesome work, dude! For defense weapons, I'll use legendary MrMcAngry's sentry guns on the buttresses (without the feet of course) and jdteixeira's Hydra Air Defense Battery on the towers. Thanks for these beautiful models!
