VK2WAR Fidget Spinner

The uploaded STL file is specifically designed for the Fidget Spinner only, without the press tabs for the 608 Bearing, as I've sourced those separately. You'll need to find a suitable match on your own. As an ex-navy member, I once indulged in making monkey fists with paracord and ended up buying about 600 3/4 inch Steel Balls due to their cheap price on eBay. Although local, these steel balls have been gathering dust for years as I lost interest in making belts and bracelets with paracord. This Fidget Spinner is my very first attempt at 3D design, and it's the first item I've built from scratch. To my surprise, it turned out perfectly. I printed it using Aurorum Glow in the Dark PLA, a local Australian material that glows in the dark. The slicing process was done with Simplify 3D. However, the file initially turned out too large, so I resized it to accommodate a Z height of 7mm. This worked seamlessly as the X and Y axes automatically adjusted (make sure to maintain the ratio when resizing the Z axis to 7mm). Both the 608 bearings from a local bearing shop snapped into place without any issues. The 3/4 inch steel ball bearings, sourced locally, also fit perfectly. With proper balancing, you might not need glue; I haven't used it, and they seem secure. I hope you enjoy this design! I'm looking forward to figuring out what to do with the remaining 590 bearings. Thanks for your interest. For those interested in modifying their 608 bearing, I've created a hub that makes it easier to grip and accommodates the difference between the ball bearings for spinning on tables or floors. It's a work-in-progress, but feel free to try it out. You'll need to print two hubs and use Keratin Hot Glue to secure them in place. Print Settings: - Printer: Wombot Exilis XL (Australian Made) - Rafts: No - Supports: No - Notes: Aurorum Glow in the Dark PLA, using Aurorum Built-Tac at 225 Degree C Nozzle, and a 60 Degree C Print Bed.
