Vizio sound bar hanging mount
thingiverse
I wanted to design a sound bar mount (VIZIO SB3821-C6) for under my fireplace mantle without damaging the tile behind it. This mount is specifically designed to screw into the wood mantle vertically, allowing the sound bar to float below it. It could also work as a wall mount or as a foot to elevate one of these sound bars on a flat surface if mounted the other way around. Print Settings Printer: Rigidbot Big Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 25% Notes: Print with at least three loops, laying down flat. No support should really be needed. How I Designed This I measured the sound bar with calipers at about 66.5mm square and rounded up to 77 for clearance. Then I measured the radius of the rounded corners at 5mm and rounded up to 5.5 for clearance. I modeled a dummy of the bar in 123, filleted the edges, then duplicated it and scaled the duplicate up by a factor of 1.05. Subtracting the smaller from the larger model created the mount's shape. Next, I pulled the top up and tweaked three sides inward, then subtracted two cylinders: one with a diameter of 4mm and another with a height of 20mm, offset from the center on the remaining top surface areas to create screw holes and screwdriver clearance. Afterward, I chamfered the corners left from subtracting the cylinders and tweaked inward on a couple more points that looked structurally weak.
