I desperately required a swift release head for my thrift store tripod, a Vivitar VPT-360 that's been discontinued for years and spare parts are now impossible to find. It took roughly six attempts to nail the design and I still have room for improvement on the back edge if I want absolute perfection, but it functions flawlessly nonetheless.
