Vivedino Troodon 400 Nozzle Wipe Bar

This is an adjustable wipe bar to clean filament from the nozzle. This is attached to the Y-axis extrusion and will go up and down with the gantry, which can allow for custom nozzle wipe code to be inserted in files (I have not done this). Note - You will have to set the minimum available travel distance of the X-axis in your firmware. Included is the X-Axis Limits Blocks I use. - Included is a 30mm spacer that provides the correct distance from the front left top Y-gantry bracket. Do not leave this in place once Wipe Bar is installed! - Use the included WipeBarTest to ensure design will work with your setup before printing all the parts. Modify parts as necessary for a custom fit. - Also included is a cutting guide for the brass bristles. Do not leave this in place once Wipe Bar is installed either! - 1 brass bristled brush should be enough to make 2 WipeBarC's, so you will have a backup for replacement when needed. - My Start G-Code for Cure 5.1.0 is included. Instructions 1. Once all parts are printed, take pliers and pull individual bunches of the brass wire out of the brush. They should be inserted with a staple holding them in. 2. Mix the JB Weld and use a toothpick to apply a small amount to each hole on the brush plate. Use the printable guide to help align the wire sections. Once the epoxy starts to set up remove the guide and place somewhere for 24 hours to fully harden. 3. Reinsert the guide and use to cut the bristle lengths to the appropriate size. 4. Use a soldering iron to melt in the brass inserts. Note - these are inserted from the back and underside of the parts. 5. Install the limit blocks and set the X-axis limit in your firmware. Mine had to be set at -8 to fully clear the build plate, which was the maximum available on the X-axis linear rail. 6. Move nozzle to start position located in enclosed start code (x-8 y100). 7. Use printable 30mm spacer to distance WipeBarA from the front metal bracket and secure with screws and T-slot nuts. 8. Use 2 screws to secure WipeBarB to the back side of WipeBarA, do not fully tighten yet. 9. Use 2 screws and optional washers to secure WipeBarC to the top side of WipeBarB. 10. Using an object approx. 1mm thick (I used a metal ruler), position under WipeBarB and secure the top screws, then position 1mm object between heatbed and WipeBarC and secure those screws. Important Please move the carriage with the screen controls to ensure your nozzle or fan shroud will not hit the Wipe Bar. With nozzle completely off build plate, slowly drop to the lowest position to ensure the Wipe Bar will not bottom out on the black plexi glass when homing or printing. This is a tedious process, and will take time to adjust to ensure proper installation.
