Vive Top Strap Anchor Clip
thingiverse
This part replaces the top component that clips into the HTC Vive, covers the cable connections, and serves as an anchor point for the top strap. WARNING: This part is extremely fragile and may easily break during use. I designed this part for a fellow redditor who had broken theirs. I've tested it to ensure it fits securely, but its durability is questionable. Given that the headset rests on several 1mm-thick ledges within the clip, I suspect this part will fatigue and fail under normal conditions. You may notice the poor print quality in the images, which are a result of using old PLA that has absorbed excessive moisture. I need to dry it out before using it for anything critical. Since these prototypes were disposable, I didn't bother to optimize the print quality. The curve on the front portion of the cover is imperfect - the "corners" of the opening are exposed. Mastering curved designs in Fusion 360 remains a challenge for me; I'm still learning various aspects of the software. To minimize aesthetic flaws, I've left the curves as they are. If anyone wishes to improve them, I've included the F3D file in the "files" section.
