VIVE MOUNT FOR LUCIDVR GLOVES
thingiverse
*UPDATE* Version 2 is now uploaded. For version 2 the print orientation on the top screw works better with the threads facing DOWN towards the build plate and use supports. This is because the threads aren't so fine that they need to be kept away from supports like V1 and you will get a MUCH nicer finish on the top. I printed the v2 bottom part at 105% and the top part at 100% and got a nice tight fit for both the thread and Vive. The gaps exposing the top trackers are just okay - It can be a little hard to get the angle right - Perhaps I could make the top section adjustable in some way.. Something to think about! ORIGINAL POST BELOW __________________________________________________ This is a mount for Lucas' LUCIDVR Gloves. Designed to fit HTC Vive controllers. Its a very basic design and still a WIP. It is functional but in future updates I intend to slim the model down and try to expose the covered tracking points on the inside of the controller. The goal is to keep the center of mass as close to your hand as you can without limiting movement and allowing full tracking. I printed it in brown recycled PLA plus on the ender 5. When slicing this model I printed both parts at 105% size and it fits and holds the controller well in the rigid mount that comes with. YMMV and you may need to experiment with sizing. 100% size should fit perfectly (Might be a bit close on the glove mount) but I was short on time and wanted to make sure it held firmly to the controller and would slide onto the glove mount easily.. You will need supports for this model (I recommend tree supports as they break off easily). Orient both parts with the threads facing upward to keep it away from the supports. Basically the top part screws into the bottom through the hole in the controller and then you slide the rigid mount into the slot. Angling the handle of the controller to one side of your hand so it is out of the way. Be sure to slide it on after you have already attached your pots to the glove - as you cant put them on once this is in the way!
