Vive Knuckles Adapters

I built custom grips for my Vive controllers, inspired by the Valve Knuckles design. They're designed to stay in place when you extend your fingers, without tracking finger movements. I started with a design similar to the Knuckles and made adjustments as needed or when I liked it better. The straps are optional; they aren't always used, especially since my hands are large enough for the controllers to fit snugly even with extended fingers. Straps are useful for games like Beat Saber where you don't need to pick up objects. The grips have a pinky slot for maximum grip or an option to grip one level up for a more gun-like feel. There are two versions: one using a string for the hand strap and another with an actual strap. I used an old camera strap, which has 2mm x 13mm holes. The top piece clicks into place with the right amount of pressure and can be rotated if needed. The build settings include 10% infill with supports only touching the build plate. The design requires 4x M3 bolts and nuts (nuts are not necessary) and optional printed pins. I'm working on a base charging unit so the grips don't need to be removed for charging.
