This design is intended for Vive models equipped with hard plastic strap holders, which I believe include versions from 2017 upwards. Extensively tested and likely the best Vive fan mount on Thingiverse. Please print as needed, supports required. Vive Deluxe Strap not necessary. Key Features: • No vibrations or low noise due to the mount's placement on the Vive strap, which absorbs vibrations. • High clearance ensures it never touches anything else. • Low material cost and fast printing time. • Built-in fan cover eliminates concerns about debris entry. • Easy, fast, non-permanent mounting that remains secure. • Unobstructed installation with no need for adjustments; simply place and zip-tie. Instructions: 1. Locate an unused USB cable, cut off the end without a full USB (male) connector. 2. Remove as much of the fan's connector as possible. 3. Strip both USB and fan wires, cutting all other wires except the red and black ones. 4. Connect the red wire from the USB to the fan and the black wire from the USB to the fan (tie together using hot glue, solder, electrical tape, heat shrink, or any combination that works). During this step, you can optionally install a toggle switch between the red wires for on/off control of the fan. 5. Remove the Vive wire cover; refer to the guide at https://www.vive.com/media/filer_public/e4/17/e4179a36-6f9e-4945-bd18-651bf45a49cd/guid-be9906e2-dc41-4199-80a3-0fea2cb69213-web.png for instructions. 6. Plug in the USB cable and replace the cover, ensuring the cable runs with the other wires. The most challenging part is complete; now follow these steps to install the print: 1. Thread thick zip-ties through the holes on the rectangle (thin ones may not work). 2. Slide the rectangle into the head strap holder atop the strap itself (the movable flap with a triangle cut out of it). 3. Securely zip tie it down. 4. Install your fan and you're finished.
