VIVE Breakout Box with Strain Relief

I modified the original HTC Vive breakout box mount to include a feature that serves as both a strain relief and a sacrificial breakpoint in case of a sudden pull. The updated design now boasts two sets of holes for attaching cable ties, ensuring it can be used both horizontally and vertically. The primary goal behind this modification is twofold: Firstly, it prevents the weight of the cables from pulling on the Vive breakout box during gameplay, which could cause them to become loose over time. Secondly, in case someone accidentally trips over the wires or swings their arms into them, the tab will absorb the impact, protecting the delicate cables from damage. If any breakage occurs, it will be either the cable tie or the tab itself, safeguarding the breakout box from potential harm.
