Visor Extension
thingiverse
This is a visor extension designed for the 2007 Honda Fit to match the functionality of the standard visor found in the Honda Pilot. The design should fit recent models because the 2019 visor is identical and the HRV appears nearly the same, although I didn't measure it. As this is my first attempt at designing such a component, I had to split the parts due to a limited print bed size. This design requires M2x4 bolts and nuts with pre-drilled holes for them. A future version might feature snap-together pieces, but I wasn't pleased with how they worked at the time. To secure it in the car, rubber bands or Velcro straps are needed to attach it to the back of the visor. The strap length should allow for placement without interfering with the mirror. ### Update (v2.1) The insert was corrected due to being off center initially. Next, a set of V2 files were added featuring additional capabilities. - The top sits down into the bottom and includes alignment lugs to prevent the insert from pushing between the two layers, forcing them apart. - Magnets can be used instead of bolts by adding magnet cavities within both the top and bottom halves; 2mmx1mm round magnets are required for this feature. - Longer tabs were added to the bottom halves to restrict flexing in the middle section. - Tolerances were adjusted slightly to provide more breathing room for the insert, allowing it to move more freely. **Note: If magnets aren't used, the V2 files will need a M2x8mm bolt or possibly an M2x7mm bolt as well.**
