Visnu Lokesvara, a Pala-Sena style deity from 12th century Eastern India, is carved from black shale. This representation of Visnu is situated between his two wives. The sculpture is housed in the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (located within the Musée du Cinquantenaire) in Brussels, Belgium. Created using ReMake and ReCap Pro software from AutoDesk. In traditional Hindu iconography, Vishnu typically exhibits a pale or dark blue complexion and possesses four arms. He grasps a padma (lotus flower) in his lower left hand, a Kaumodaki gada (mace) in his lower right hand, a Panchajanya shankha (conch) in his upper left hand, and the Sudarshana Chakra (discus) in his upper right hand. A classic depiction of Vishnu shows him reclining on the coils of the snake Shesha while being accompanied by his consort Lakshmi. As he "dreams the universe into existence," Vishnu's iconic pose is deeply rooted in Hindu mythology.
